Discover This Family’s Secret Technique for Painting Luminous Water at Sunset, Taught by Master Seascape Painter Alex Dzigurski II!
Capturing the light inside a curling wave won’t be a mystery any longer with Alex Dzigurski II’s Dzigurski Luminous Seascape Method. Discover how to take your sunsets from muddy to glowing, and paint water that truly moves.
Imagine standing at the shore as the sun drops toward the water…
…and for one breath, the light pours straight through a curling wave and sets it glowing from the inside, like green glass held to a flame.
Gold spills across the wet sand. The whole sky catches fire.
Then the ocean folds it away, and it’s gone.
Most painters never manage to catch that moment. The sunset color muddies. The wave goes stiff. The glow dies on the canvas.
But Alex Dzigurski II learned to catch it, just as his father did. Held on canvas, long after the ocean takes it back.
In this course, Alex walks you through his complete process with a full painting demonstration, from the bare canvas and first horizon line to the final spark of light on the water.
You’ll discover how warm and cool colors work together to make water glow instead of turning to mud…
…how to design overlapping waves that truly move…
…how to make light appear to shine straight through the curl…
…and how smoky foam, wet-sand reflections, and shimmering water bring the whole scene alive.
Using knowledge inherited across two generations and refined over 30 years at the easel, Alex Dzigurski II reveals the family painting technique to help you bring that same luminous glow to your next seascape.
Meet Your Instructor, Alex Dzigurski II!
Alex Dzigurski II is known for his dramatic, luminous California seascapes, painted in a style that blends classical realism with an impressionist’s touch.
Born in California in 1968, he is the son of A. Dzigurski Sr. (1911 to 1995), himself a celebrated master of luminous landscape and seascape, whose work filled the rooms Alex grew up in.
A 1990 graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Alex then did something almost no artist is ever given the chance to do. For five years he studied directly under his father, painting from life and working beside him in the studio, absorbing the Dzigurski palette, brushwork, and technique.
From there the road opened. Alex has painted along the coasts of California, New England, and Oregon, through the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains, across the Alps, France, and Italy, and among the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, Yosemite, and Hawaii.
A professional artist for 30 years, he has participated in numerous national exhibitions and is represented by many galleries.
In 1999, Alex received Signature Status from Oil Painters of America, an honor granted by his fellow contemporary artists.
So what is the secret behind water that seems lit from within?
Together with Streamline Publishing, Alex Dzigurski II has created a brand-new course, Painting Colorful Seascapes, to share the inherited knowledge of two generations.
This is your chance to learn from a painter who carries a lifetime of watching light on water in a single brushstroke.
