THE POWER OF THE SUGGESTIVE IS MUCH GREATER THAN THE STATEMENT OF REALITY." - C. W. Mundy
C.W. Mundy took on the challenge, in the early 1990's, of painting in an impressionistic style, going out of doors and painting en plein air and from life. This painting style led C.W. to a series of European Plein Air painting trips, beginning with a trip to France in 1995 and continuing to 2005 and beyond.
C.W. has painted en plein air in his own home state of Indiana, creating the on-going collection The Banks of The Wabash. He has traveled frequently to the East Coast, particularly to paint in locations of historical art colonies such as Jeffersonville, Vermont and the Cape Ann fishing harbors of Gloucester and Rockport,Masschusetts.
C.W. Mundy has participated in many prestigious exhibitions thoughout the U.S. and has been featured in numberous publications. Among the honors, C.W was invited in 2003 to Master Signature Membership in the national organization Oil Painters of America. In 2007, C.W. achieved Master Status in The American Impressionist Society.
