Discover The “Focal First” Approach That Creates Dynamic Gouache Paintings Without The Chaos

Inside “Painting with Gouache”, award-winning artist Michele Usibelli will show you her unique method we call the “FocalFirst” approach.

It will:

  • …help you nail the correct value every time
  • …help you determine the correct color…
  • …and most importantly, guarantees your painting doesn’t get overworked, confusing, or “chaotic”!

Michele’s approach is different from other artists, and it’s the reason she’s able to create phenomenal works of art that win awards.

Together with Michele, you’re going to discover ways to strengthen your composition… explore the vibrant qualities of gouache… master gouache’s challenging yet interesting characteristics… improve your brushwork… learn color tips for an impactful painting… and so much more.

If you’re not satisfied with the results of your gouache paintings, and you want to know the secrets behind successful artwork (that actually gets sold), you’re about to find out how.

According to Michele, most paintings don’t succeed because the artist didn’t have a set “plan” of how the painting was going to be built.

Like a symphony without a conductor, a painting without a plan will be chaotic and a sore to the senses.

Once you have this blueprint in place, you can almost guarantee that your gouache paintings will turn out much more energetic and full of life.

Michele will guide you from start to finish on how to complete a gouache painting with amazing results. Your gouache paintings will never be dull or uninspired again. In fact, even your non-gouache paintings in other mediums will become more moving and dynamic because the unique method that Michele shares can be applied to any painting.

Michele Usibelli: Painting with Gouache

Michele's gouache class brought me back to what I had forgotten. Keeping shapes simple and deliberate brushstrokes. Her reminders were clear, very helpful on the best way to use gouache. Really enjoyed this and have watched it multiple times. Now using gouache more and with confidence! Thank you!

Final Touches... a constant reminder and a great source to return to...

This expertly produced video works for painters in gouache, acrylic and oil, as you watch Michele create her shape pattern as if standing by her shoulder. You get to view the subject, her palette and the work at the same time letting you see the complete process. Her reinforcement of using shapes and how to "do it", including using her brushes and tools to best effect was really important to me. It's a great reminder of the importance of the focal point and the journey your brush has to make around the work to strengthen it, while making decisions with temperature and color. I also found the last chapter of the demo "Final Touches" extremely helpful and when I'm having trouble with a painting watch it again and usually find the answer. Thank you, Midge Coleman
