So this video is a real treat. When you listen to and learn from Steve, you’ll find your skills increasing to a whole new level, AND you’ll come away with an understanding of what will truly set YOUR paintings apart from everyone else in the marketplace.

“Keep it simple, and edit out what you don’t need.”

- Steve Curry

Simplification is power

Details can be distracting. With too many things going on in a painting, the viewer can get confused. The eye doesn’t know where to go, and rather than get sucked in and emotionally involved, the viewer will likely just move on.

Steve Curry has proven that less is more when it comes to composition and design.

He will take time to go through his secrets when it comes to:

  • Knowing exactly what you will focus on in your scene
  • How to use sketches and thumbnails for reference
  • The secret to using references to inform, not as something to be “copied”
  • How to edit your scene down to the basics for powerful impact
  • Ways to find the “energy” of the scene you will be painting
  • Keys to composition for clarity
  • Color theme secrets you can use immediately
  • A simple layout option using panel proportions
  • What color to use to block in initial shapes
  • A shape secret that changes the way you look at ALL shapes
  • Why pre-mixed “cheat” colors are a HUGE advantage on your palette
  • The best way to highlight shapes for impressive effect
  • A secret retouch technique that makes colors easy to match
  • A technique to push contrasts where needed
  • How to address mistakes in real time
  • Why objects that are too close to the edge are a distraction
  • A way to view your final painting that can impress potential buyers
  • Use ONLY this color for your palette
  • How many tints are all you need to establish a composition
  • And more…

- Steve Curry

A career in advertising came first, then … the true calling

Steve Curry ran a highly successful advertising agency. Then, as he changed gears and thought about what his next chapter would be, he found that his early love of art came racing back to him. The next thing he knew, a new passion blossomed.

It’s that advertising connection that will make all the difference for you. Deep at the heart of advertising that works is an emotional connection of some kind. That emotion must be there to break through the clutter. It must be there to stand out. Only then can the ad have a chance to work.

You might think that sounds great, but what’s the connection to the art world? Well, Steve will walk you through this close relationship. When he talks about choosing your subject, he will talk about capturing what captures you. This means the scene MUST have an emotional connection for YOU. Only then can it have a chance of connecting with others.

“A Quiet Moment”: This scene emotionally “captured” Steve Curry and he captured it for all of us. Only when artists are inspired do they have a chance to emotionally connect with and inspire others. In his new video release, FINDING YOUR VOICE: Painting with Creative Expression, Steve demonstrates how he creates his signature style and will help you find yours. Today, you are authorized to get a PRE-RELEASE DISCOUNT.

A history you can connect to

Steve Curry drew constantly as a child. Using crayons, pencils, or markers, Steve would draw everything in sight. He would draw his army men, cars, cowboys, anything.

With the added encouragement of his entire family, who were all artistic, Steve’s interests grew and developed.

He attended college focusing on advertising. After college, he worked in advertising agencies. After a few years of that, he started his own agency, and ended up running the agency for many years.

Then, when the thought of retirement came, Steve was facing the question of what to do. That’s when the thought of returning to his art roots took hold. That began a second career of over 20 years now.

How to fire up your imagination

Over decades in advertising, the power of imagination fueled many creative efforts. Yes, facts were important. Research was done. Market surveys were done. Ultimately, however, the success of each campaign came down to one thing: imagination.

The same is true with your paintings. The success of your art career will come down to the power of your imagination. So how do you fire it up?

In this video, Steve will take you through that journey. He will give you tips on how to find the scene elements that inspire YOU.

Notice what I said there. The focus isn’t on finding the scene that inspires you. No, it is on the elements of the scene that inspire you.

And we’re not saying you must find elements that are inspiring to others. No, these elements must inspire YOU.

About the elements

Entire paintings can be created around only one element that was found in nature. The remainder of the scene could be a figment of your imagination.

Steve has painted en plein air for many years. During those thousands of hours outside, he has developed an ability to find the ONE thing that inspires him. (Or it may be more than one thing.) But often his finished paintings have elements he found in reality AND elements he found in his imagination.

Does this place exist?

“Highlights of the Day”:  Where can your imagination take you? Can your imagination help you find your own style? Steve Curry will help you find your style, using reality mixed with imagination. He’ll also demonstrate an incredible painting. You’ll see the extra energy his painting has as it comes to life. What is the real secret to painting like Steve Curry?

One of the first things Steve will share with you is the power of being an original. The goal is never to copy a scene, a style, or an artist. Be your own person. That’s what is at the heart of his new video. He will help you FIND YOUR VOICE.

That old “10,000 hour” rule

We’ve all heard that it takes 10,000 hours (of practice) to become an expert landscape artist.

This is not totally true.

Everyone knows that if you practice stupidly, you will not improve. In fact, your skills may slide backward. You could actually become a worse painter.

Choose your teachers carefully.

You will certainly learn from a lot of other artists, from your mistakes, and from time. If you’re like me, you’re probably making plenty of mistakes. You’ve probably already invested a lot of time painting (and plan on spending a lot more). So the only thing left is to choose your teachers, mentors, and influences carefully.

I recommend you add Steve’s teachings as you go along your art path.

“Golden Afternoon”: Travel back in time with trees. Steve Curry has a long and highly distinguished career. He has found his own style and perfected it. When you look deeply into one of his paintings, it just seems to transport you back to a simpler, less hectic, and more relaxing time. Steve’s goal in this video is to help you find your voice and style (not to copy his). What would it be worth to finally discover YOUR true style? Get Finding Your Voice by Steve Curry and find out.

Though you can observe the techniques of any artist instantly by watching them demonstrate and by watching the videos repeatedly, please know that, though many artists offer insights that can help people overcome a lot of learning time, every artist learns at their own speed based on their own level of understanding. Painting and drawing bring great joy, though the joy may come from practicing various techniques over and over until you master them. We do not wish to indicate that you, or anyone, can skip the joy of practice and the challenges of getting better. Painting is a lifetime endeavor, and getting good does not typically happen rapidly, or instantly. Your results may vary. And please know that if at any time within 30 days you feel this video has not lived up to your expectations or its promise, we will happily refund your money.
