Begin with a lesson on preparing your Aquabords as a substrate, then follow Carrie's techniques for adding your first layer of paint with drips and sprays of water to create flowing effects. As you up build layers you'll learn techniques for etching, adding texture, adding masking fluid, and learn to identify the composition. In the end you will have created carefree art with dramatic drips and luscious layers.

Carrie Schmitt is an expressive floral artist and author of Painted Blossoms: Creating Expressive Flower Art with Mixed Media (North Light, 2015). She began painting in 2009 when developing a life-threatening allergy to heat. Today, she paints daily from her mountain studio outside of Seattle, Washington and teaches an online yoga inspired art course, Journey to the Self, as well as workshops. Her art is licensed for home decor and stationery with several companies, including DiaNoche Designs, Hallmark, teNeues, and Woodmansterne.
